Terms of Service

By accessing or using Journey Point, you agree to these Terms. If you are accessing on behalf of a school or district, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. Who May Use the Platform
Journey Point is a school-facing platform. Student and family accounts are created by authorized school staff only. Individuals may not self-register as students. Use by anyone under 13 is only permitted through a school that has agreed to these Terms on their behalf.
3. School Responsibilities
Schools using Journey Point agree to:
- Only enroll students for whom the school has lawful authority
- Obtain required parental consents (COPPA, FERPA) prior to enrolling students under 13
- Designate at least one School Administrator responsible for account management
- Notify Journey Point within 48 hours of any suspected unauthorized access
- Comply with all applicable federal and Michigan state laws governing student records
4. Acceptable Use
Users may not:
- Attempt to access records outside their authorized role
- Upload harmful, abusive, or illegal content
- Use the platform to harass any student, educator, or family member
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the platform’s AI models or curriculum
- Share login credentials
5. Student Work and Intellectual Property
Journey Point curriculum content is the property of Journey Point LLC. Student work products created on the platform are owned by the student. Journey Point will not use student work for any purpose outside the student’s own educational record without explicit written consent.
6. AI-Generated Content
Portions of the curriculum are generated using artificial intelligence. All AI-generated content is reviewed by educators before reaching students. Journey Point does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated content and educators are responsible for reviewing content before delivery.
7. No Guarantees of Outcome
Journey Point provides tools to support educators and students. Journey Point does not guarantee specific academic outcomes, graduation rates, credit attainment, or college/career placement results.
8. Service Availability
Journey Point targets 99.5% uptime but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance. Journey Point is not liable for data loss caused by force majeure events.
9. Termination
Schools may terminate their use of Journey Point at any time by notifying info@journeypoint.app. Journey Point may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms, with written notice except in cases of imminent harm to students.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Michigan law, Journey Point LLC’s total liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms shall not exceed the total fees paid by the school in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Wayne County, Michigan.
12. Changes to Terms
We will notify schools by email at least 30 days before any material change. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
